Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino has sent Lionel Messi to see specialists in a bid to find out why the star player has been vomiting during matches.
The Barcelona star, 26, has been sent to doctors to try and find out why he keeps being sick during matches.
Martino says there is no cause for alarm but admits that the bouts of sickness are 'not normal'. He said the issue has not been affecting the four-time World Player of the Year's ability to perform.
Messi was sick during the midweek International friendly between Argentina and Romania that resulted in a draw and sources say that the player has been sick during games in the past – both for Barcelona and his home country of Argentina.
Ahead of this weekend's Primera Division match with Real Valladolid Martino said: “I've spoken with him and it happens regularly. I'm not a specialist but I understand it's not something normal.”
“He's been to see specialists at certain times and a solution hasn't been found yet, but there's no cause for concern. It doesn't affect him doing his work at all. It's something he's had for some time.”
