One in 10 secondary school students in Malaga have been cyber bullied at one time.
A study, carried out by Fundacion Alia2 and Diputacion de Malaga, interviewed 875 students from all over the province; they discovered that at least half of the students had no control over who could look at their photographs, videos and profiles on social networks.
Ana Mato, vice-president of the Diputacion, commented that the objective of the study, and its accompanying campaign, was to inform and educate the minors on the safe usage of the internet through informal talks given in schools to both students and their parents and teachers.
The study also revealed that most minors in Malaga have no parental supervision on the internet, only 10% gave their parents their passwords while only 37% had an established time they could use the net.
All this comes just after the National Police in Malaga arrested two girls and three boys for cyber bullying two of their classmates through social networking sites.
