Road deaths up 29% since March

There have been 132 deaths on Spanish roads for the period between March 1and April 10 compared to 103 for the same period last year – up 29%.

Now the RACC motorists organisation is advising drivers to be aware of the dangers on the road and is recommending measures, some obvious and some not, to help avoid accidents.

Among the advice given by the RACC is a warning not to drive while under the influence – be it drink or drugs.

It also recommends taking frequent breaks if going a long way and to check your car before setting off; it also advises to not search the glove box, fiddle with the radio or the GPS while at the wheel.
