BAFTAs 2014 - Winners and Losers

Last night (Sunday) saw a host of stars light up the BAFTAs at the Drury Lane theatre in Covent Garden, London.

Cilla Black won the ‘Special Award’ for her services to UK Broadcasting, while the ‘Entertainment Performance’ award went to dynamic dup Ant and Dec for their Saturday Night Takeaway show and ‘I’m a Celebrity get me out of Here’ presenting.

Coronation Street scooped the Soap award while Gogglebox won big too, being recognised for its contribution to UK TV with the award for ‘Best Reality & Constructed Factual’.

Helena Bonham Carter narrowly missed out on the ‘Best Actress’ gong for her portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor in biopic Richard and Liz.

Broadchurch took the award for ‘Best Drama Series’, with the show’s star Olivia Colman winning ‘Leading Actress’. Broadchurch’s David Bradley took the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ prize.

‘Leading actor’ went to Sean Harris, for his role in Channel 4’s Southcliffe.

In terms of fashion, white and gold were the favoured colours with red carpet hits including ex-Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh and presenter Laura Whitmore.

Millie, who was attending with her husband musician Professor Green, wore a beautiful gold-embellished, sleeveless, floor-length gown from Welsh designer Julien Macdonald’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

Other white and golden girls included former Liberty X singer Jessica Taylor, ex-EastEnders actress Michelle Collins, breakfast TV favourite Kate Garraway and Elizabeth McGovern.
