Fuengirola council has made an agreement with Bioparc Fuengirola to hold environmental activities in the town and promote the zoo’s attractions. The agreement also includes the installation of a tent, at Christmas time, in any of the town’s central squares, informative promotions in local schools and the collaboration of the Bioparc in the Three Kings Procession.
The Fuengirola tourism councillor, Ignacio Souviron, met with park director, Francisco Asisi Garcia, to renew this long-standing agreement, which has been in place since 2011, in which the council helps to promote knowledge of the park among residents of the town.
Souviron explained that the Bioparc would hold activities on the beaches of the town in the months of July and August to make people more aware of the need to look after the environment and local beaches. He went on to comment that the council was very happy to renew this “symbiotic” agreement and that it was a big tourist attraction for anyone visiting the area.
The Fuengirola Bioparc is one of the most visited attractions in Andalucia with around 300,000 visitors per year.
National Geographic magazine described the zoo as having the most modern installations in Spain and one of the best in Europe.
