Mare Nostrum make over

MIJAS council is to invest more than €770,000 in the remodelling of the A-7 where it arrives in La Cala.

The contract, which will soon go out to tender, covers the more than 100 metres between the motorway and the avenida Mare Nostrum.

This is the last phase of the road works which have beautified the entrance to the town by making a direct access from the motorway along avenida Mare Nostrum straight to the entrance of the La Noria urbanisation.

The deputy mayor, Silvia Marin, and the councillor for urban planning, Manuel Navarro, have announced the investment by the Mijas council of €772,605 in the improvement of the environment by the transformation of the 100 metres between the motorway and the entrance to the La Noria urbanisation. This investment, commented Marin, recognises the touristic importance of the urbanisation and the growing population of the nearby areas. Marin went on to comment that as well as making the area more aesthetically pleasing it would also improve the traffic circulation in the area cutting down on the queues which form almost every morning.
