THE residents of Calle Real in La Herradura are fighting to stop the refurbishment of their street, claiming it makes its accessibility problems even worse.
A group of neighbours has started a petition demanding the work be immediately halted, raising 230 signatures in only three days.
They complain an elevated access ramp being built in the middle of the street, which is located on a hill, blocks their way in their daily life.
Local shops have also shown their concern as they are certain it will affect business.
Their hopes are now pinned on the petition and town hall willingness to reach an agreement that would solve the problem.
