A man has been jailed for 5 years after he was identified by a blind man who recognised his voice.
Musician Adiel Girón Oquendo, 63, met up with a female Brazilian friend after playing his accordion on the streets of Seville, Andalucia. The pair had been drinking when they were later joined by Moroccan Ahmad Masrur Cham, who offered to drive them home.
On arrival at the apartment the Moroccan forced the woman into a bedroom, raped her and left.
During the trial Adiel said: “There was nothing I could do, the door was locked, I tried to call neighbours but it was all too late.”
Police arrested the 32 year-old Moroccan after receiving a tip off and was identified by his voice after a statement from a blind man.
Cham who admitted having sex with the 23-year-old denied that it had been rape, but the claim was rejected by the blind man who said: 'I heard her telling him to leave her alone.'
The court sentenced Cham to five years in prison and ordered him to pay €6,000 in compensation to his victim.
