Over 100 guns found at Alicante home


A security guard is accused of legally buying an arsenal of weapons to then sell on the black market to criminal gangs.


The 52-year-old attended the auction of arms of the Guardia Civil where he purchased several firearms.


National Police then found 140 handguns and rifles at his home in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Alicante city, as well as several types of explosive weapons and missiles.


The prosecution is calling for a 10 year prison sentence for an alleged crime of illegal possession of arms and ammunition and other illegal weapons.


Two other men are also accused of being involved I the crimes, acting as middlemen between the buyer of the weapons and the criminal gangs.
