Puerto Banus stag do ends in drowning


A British holidaymaker has drowned in the Costa del Sol’s Puerto Banus while on a stag do.




A police diving team pulled the 37-year-old out of the water in the upmarket resort of Puerto Banus early yesterday morning (Friday).


The man went missing on Thursday night at around 2am while he was with friends in the port.


It has also emerged that police are questioning a man over the incident on suspicion of failing to aid a person in distress.


The Guardia Civil have confirmed that the incident is “under investigation”.


An autopsy is set to take place in Malaga.


A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “We are aware of the death of a British national in Puerto Banus on May 23.


“We are offering consular assistance to the family.”
