Valencian exports during the first quarter of 2014 increased 5.9% over the same period last year to reach €6.12 billion; representing 10.5% of all Spanish exports.
By province, the largest increase was in Valencia, at 5.8%, with €3.40 billion, followed by Castellon, with a growth of 8% (€1.51 billion) and Alicante, with 3.4% (€1.20 billion).
During the first quarter, the main export sector in the Region; food, fell 8.4% in foreign sales, but car sales grew by 5.4%.
Nationally, exports increased in 12 regions in the first quarter compared to the same period last year.
Navarra experienced the greater increases (13.8%) with Castilla La Mancha seeing a 13.4% increase.
