Dog thieves assault man in Turre

DOG thieves jumped from a white van and attacked a British man in Turre, stealing his valuable miniature Doberman pinscher.

The two men attacked the man in a side street close to Bar Zamba in Turre, cutting the young pedigree dog from its lead and speeding off. The man’s other dog, a small dark brown terrier aged 11, disappeared in fright. Thankfully the pedigree dog has since been located and returned to its family. Both dogs are now believed to be safe at home enjoying a warm treat-filled welcome.

Dogs are stolen for a variety of reasons, including for hunting or dog-baiting, but usually pedigree dogs such as this are taken for breeding and often to order.

Witnesses to the event, or anyone who can help with further information that may lead to the arrest of the thieves are encouraged to contact the local police in Turre or telephone Roland on 606 911 049.
