Travel photos show Parts Unknown

For this season of CNN's "Parts Unknown," Instagram users and CNN iReporters followed along with Anthony Bourdain in his travels. Here is a collection of the best travel photos from each location. Back in 2007, Thomas Yu spotted this herd of wildebeest at Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. In May or June, the wildebeests typically migrate north to search for greener pastures. Up to 1.5 million wildebeests are involved in the great migration.

This is not dirt. This is a termite mound in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania. Morlaye Kamara felt a strong connection to our planet during his trip to the African country. "You realize how important it is for humanity to preserve and care for it. It's a symbiotic relationship and we depend on each other," he said.

Hoi An used to be one of the major trading centers in Southeast Asia. Now it's a popular tourist destination in Vietnam with views of Cua Dai Beach. Kimling Lam captured this photo of a woman biking through the city's Old Quarter.

Christina Bennetzen loves how every street in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, sells one thing. This particular street specializes in building and safety equipment.

Kimling Lam has been visiting Vietnam since 2002, and one of her favorite places is the capital, Hanoi. "It has a focus on culture and education. There also is a sense of history, preserved in the streets that focus on particular trades," she said.

Former Peace Corps volunteer Kristin McCarthy captured this photo while she was in Paraguay from 2010 to 2012. On the bike is a girl named Ruth, then an eighth-grader.

Spencer Schaff spent her last month in Paraguay eating all of the country's best foods. Here is chipa guazu, a traditional dish made of fresh corn bread, Paraguayan cheese, milk and eggs.

On a scorching day last summer, Callum MacBeth-Seath enjoyed his first baseball game. "The crowd was amazing, and I was with my friends, so it was difficult not to have a great time," said MacBeth-Seath, who visited Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

Ashlea Halpern enjoyed a Bangladeshi feast at Neerob in the Bronx. Neerob would rather its customers not use utensils and dig in with their hands. Just remember: Right hand only and don't mix the dishes.

Jason Rosario is in the Bronx just about every day and captured this photo on his way to class. "The Bronx is where I grew up. It's where I learned how to walk, talk and how to be the man I am today. The Bronx is home," he said.

Bruce Wang woke up to this view while staying at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai. Wang, a Toronto resident, was born and raised in the Chinese city.

A man does calligraphy in Fuxing Park in the former French Concession area of Shanghai. "It's so cool that in the shadows of the ultramodern Shanghai and Oriental Pearl (Tower) are people in the parks doing calligraphy or playing mahjong," said Beth Cassar, who snapped this photo.

"I love that Shanghai is both cosmopolitan and distinctly Chinese at the same time," says Nalin Natrajan. Pudong, known for its skyscrapers, sits across the Huangpu River from a historic area known as the Bund.

Di Tang enjoyed a Shanghainese dish of stir-fried crabs with soy sauce. "I like local food, especially the homemade," she said.

For this season of CNN's "Parts Unknown," Anthony Bourdain has been expanding our horizons to show us places such as Paraguay, Vietnam and even New York's often-unexplored borough of the Bronx.

'So delicious, I feel like an animal'
