The Spanish capital of the British


Orihuela has the largest number of British residents in Spain.


The National Institute of Statistics reveals that a total of 18,834 Britons are registered in Orihuela; mostly along the coastal urbanisations making up the Orihuela Costa.


It was the highest ranking ahead of Mijas on the Costa del Sol and Torrevieja.


Rojales came in fourth place with 9,083 British residents, with Javea having 8,858.


Murcia, Tenerife and Malaga also came in the top 10 with San Fulgencio in ninth with a total of 6,363 British people registered.
