Lower tax for Huercal Overa

COUNCILLOR for Economy in Huercal Overa, Maribel Sanchez, has announced this week that the tax burden will ease for crop farmers, animal farmers and new business owners.

She was referring to ICIO tax (Tax Ordinance for Construction, Installations and Works) for the creation and expansion of industrial business, livestock, and agricultural buildings. The objective is to ease some the area’s tax burden, in turn boosting the economic growth of the town. The tax rate is falling by approximately 50 per cent.

Sanchez explained: “The government team, once again in the process of public participation, has learned about the importance of reducing this rate to ensure growth of the different productive layers that make up our municipal economy. This measure will directly benefit those business owners who wish to expand their companies and will cause a subsequent increase in jobs. This gives a clear answer to those farmers and ranchers that we met during our electoral programme, making decisions that result in improvements to their farms and businesses.”

She concluded: “This will give good results, I am convinced. Clearly it will not be overnight, but the various measures we have put in place over the last three years will ensure positive results, bringing benefits for the companies and entrepreneurs who come to our town, with the subsequent growth of Huercal Overa.”
