Something for all the family

DENIA is putting on a programme of activities and entertainments that continue until June 2015.

The scheme, which is part of the Actividades en Familia that began in 2013, schedules all the events for a Sunday so that families can enjoy them together, explained Culture councillor Pepa Font.

Activities include plays, music, dance and even conjuring, but outdoor pursuits are not forgotten.

These include bicycle outings as well as conducted tours of places of local interest.

Some, like the tour next Sunday (September 21), feature the background and history of raisin production in the area.

This coming Sunday’s tour entitled ‘Empremtes del temps de la pansa’ traces the industry’s links to Denia castle.

It starts out at reception in the castle at 10.30am and will be led by municipal archaeologist, Josep Gisbert.

For more information and reservations, ring 966 420 260 between 10.30am and 1pm (except Mondays).
