Spanish Royal turns to Simpsons cartoon

Queen Letizia of Spain has been given a new look courtesy of Italian artist Alexsabdro Palombo, who has in the past made over other Royals including Queen Elizabeth II and the Duchess of Cambridge in a new and different appearance.

Celebrating her 42nd birthday on September 15, Queen Letizia attended the Luis Carandell Journalism awards ceremony at the Senate Palace in Madrid, and is described as a glamorous mother-of-two. She is also known and respected for the charity work she carries out; to top off her respected reputation and following in the footsteps of other Royals, Queen Letizia has been handed a tribute in the form of a glamour makeover cartoon in the style of the Simpsons.

Artist Alexsabdro Palombo explained that he was impressed with her ‘strengths’ and ‘determination’ and was committed to supporting her as she ‘represents the ideal modern-day woman’, adding: “She’s strong, determined and committed to supporting social causes.”

The cartoons show the monarch in many different poses. In one she is in full military dress riding a bull outside the front of the Royal Palace; another shows her again outside the Palace but this time walking along the red carpet in a pink dress, matching pink shoes and hat, but appearing to ‘walk’ a small ball on a lead, both in typical Simpsons style yellow appearance with pouting lips.

The artist has produced several different cartoons all illustrating Queen Letizia in a strong yet comical appearance.

Another monarch style cartoon by Palombo shows the Queen of England and the Duchess of Cambridge standing on a red carpet outside the front of Buckingham Palace, both in the pose and stance as if to set foot out onto the streets of London.

Whilst attending official functions and dressing for the occasion, Queen Letizia is by no means shy to throw on a pair of jeans and t-shirt, switching from official mode to mother, to take her daughters to school with King Felipe as both were seen on September 12 when Princesses Leonor and Sofia started their new academic year.
