Gas is thrown in fight

AN Alcoy man threw a butane gas canister from a third floor apartment during an argument with his wife.

The cylinder fell onto a neighbour’s car parked in the street below without exploding but shattered the windscreen.

Soon afterwards the man, believed to be in his 40s and separated from his wife according to neighbours, was overcome by nerves and taken by ambulance to the local Virgen de los Lirios hospital.

Both the National Police and the Local Police are investigating the incident and the background to the quarrel, sources said.
