THE PROVINCIAL Court has upheld the sentences given to Isabel Pantoja and Maite Zaldívar, who must present themselves at the prison gates within 10 days.
In a case linked to the prosecution of her former lover and Marbella Mayor Julian Muñoz, Isabel Pantoja; together with the Mayor’s ex-wife Maite Zaldívar and four others, all have had sentences originally served in April 2013 upheld.
Andalucian singing legend Pantoja was sentenced to serve 24 months in prison and pay a fine of over €1.1 million for crimes of money laundering.
Pantoja has 10 days to adhere to the court order. Failure to do so will result in the courts issuing a warrant for her arrest.
Muñoz, the ex-Mayor of Marbella, was sentenced to serve a total of seven years in prison after being found guilty of money laundering and bribery, as well as a fine of nearly €4 million.
Pantoja and Zaldívar, both of whom have had intimate relations with Muñoz, were viewed as accomplices to his crimes.
